LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines
and casino management software for the global gaming industry, announced
today that its eTICKET cashless system for international markets was
recognized for technological innovation, winning the top award in
International Gaming & Wagering Business magazine’s (IGWB) International
Gaming Products 2007 awards.
Bally’s Vice President of International, John Connelly, accepted the
award at a special ceremony during the 2008 International Casino
Exhibition (ICE) gaming trade show last week in London. “Winning this
prestigious award is further confirmation of Bally’s commitment to
providing products specifically for the global market,” Connelly said.
IGWB’s distinguished panel of judges representing a cross-section of the
industry singled out Bally’s eTICKET cashless product as “…a requirement
for new casinos looking to minimize costs and maximize revenues” and a
“great product that optimizes the use of tickets.”
“The Bally eTICKET is an important facet of our casino management system
solutions because it allows international casinos to create a cashless
environment across all manufacturers’ games quickly, and provides
increased operating efficiency, productivity, and most of all,
profitability,” said Marco Herrera, Vice President and Managing Director
of Bally’s MCC systems division based in Nice, France.
Already in use on more than 220,000 gaming machines in more than 190
gaming locations worldwide, Bally’s eTICKET cashless solution provides a
simpler and quicker way for players to move from machine to machine –
regardless of manufacturer – by using a secure, bar-coded cashout ticket
printed right at the gaming device. Players can then conveniently take
their eTICKET to another slot machine or cash it out at the cashier cage
or change booth, virtually eliminating coin-based cash transactions.
Also recognized as innovators in the International Gaming Products 2007
awards were Bally’s Golden Monkey™ video slot, with its unique, “Step
And Win™” progressive bonus feature, and Bally’s MCC Open Casino
Manager™, a robust, back-end total casino management solution for
international casino operators.
